I’m originally from Heidelberg, Germany, and spent large parts of my childhood in the United Kingdom. After completing a foundation course for Art and Design in Banbury, I studied Illustration and Visual Communication at HAW Hamburg. I have been a freelance illustrator and artist since 2008. Most recently, I have set up my work room in Alexandria, Virginia, after moving to the United States in 2015.

My favourite things to draw include animals, curious creatures, and handlettering. In addition to book illustration, I work on event posters, webcomics, and my own run of illustrated products.

Lena Pflüger wurde 1981 in Leimen geboren und wuchs in Deutschland und England auf. Sie studierte Illustration an der HAW Hamburg und arbeitet seit 2008 als freischaffende Illustratorin. Im Sommer 2015 zog sie von ihrer Heimatstadt Heidelberg auf zu neuen Ufern und lebt nun mit ihrer Familie in Alexandria, Virginia.

Neben handgeletterter Schrift zeichnet Lena am liebsten Monster, Tiere und kuriose Gestalten. Zusätzlich zur Arbeit im Kinderbuchbereich illustriert sie u.a. Plakate für Events und gestaltet ihre eigenen illustrativen Produkte.
